Use pixels when you have a fixed target (1080 × 1080 for Instagram, 1500 × 500 for a Twitter header). Use percentage when you want to shrink a folder of mixed-size photos by the same amount (50%, 25%) without computing each pixel target by hand.
Current safe defaults: Instagram feed 1080 × 1080, Twitter / X header 1500 × 500, LinkedIn cover 1584 × 396, Facebook cover 851 × 315, YouTube thumbnail 1280 × 720. The resize tool ships these as one-click presets.
